How many times have we heard the saying, New Year, New You! Actually this year if feels like, New Year, Same Old!
Many of us being affected by Covid 19 and the burden on our lives, those around us and our families. Covid 19 is causing stress, anxiety and fear. So actually New Year, Same Old seems to resonate well with that.
But what can we do to make ourselves feel better, feel safe and carry on. Well if I’m honest, I feel that every single one of you are already doing this. Look at the lives that you are helping. Look at the work that you are doing. It is easy to feel like we are stuck in mud and not moving forward, but you as a carer, as a wonderful person is doing just that. You may not feel like you are, but you, yes you, are bringing joy to each and every life that you touch, every day. If it wasn’t for you, doing the job that you do, someone would be lonely. Someone would feel sad, upset, hurt, and worst of all alone.
Whilst you are looking after those that you care for though. Who is looking after you?
Being someone’s carer only probably describes part of the work that you do. It is a demanding job both physically as well as mentally and of course emotionally. It is important that you look after yourself and that you are aware of when you are feeling low.
