Annual Christmas Party & PCS 11th Birthday Party


Every year, we host our Annual Client Christmas Party, in collaboration with the PCS Birthday Party, this year we are turning 11!!


This year we are having a Winter Wonderland Gala, so be prepared for a day full of live music, dancing, games, fun and so much more!


We will provide food and beverages throughout the day and can arrange transport for Clients to and from St. Anne's Parish Church in Shevington, should they require.

Wellbeing Practitioner



Nicola has completed her Menopause Practitioner course and we will soon be introducing a Menopause Wellness Practitioner to the PCS Family, to deliver information and support on the menopause and perimenopause.


If you are struggling with symptoms, please contact Nicola at the Office. Alternatively, you can contact our in-house counsellor who has great experiencing in helping women during these periods in their lives.

Supporting Wigan & Leigh College



It's an honour to be supporting Wigan & Leigh Collage and Wigan Council's Supported Living.

Collectively, we have been helping to break down barriers for young people working within the care industry.

We are now also provide Apprenticeships and Traineeships for the council to help promote a career in care.

We are now proud advocates for Wellbeing of Women and have given our support to the 'Menopause Workplace Pledge'.


This is something our Director, Nicola, is very passionate about. We want to ensure any women working with PCS is supported during times of menopause and perimenopause.

After a very difficult few years, and being unable to get together in such a way for so long, it was an absolute pleasure to host a wonderful Afternoon Tea Jubilee Party, in honour of our beautiful Queen.

Thank you to all of our Clients and their Families that came to celebrate with us, we cant wait for our next PCS Party!!

New Year, New Office!!



So, the end is near ... We are finally saying goodbye to 2020; a year that has rendered us speechless, a year that has pushed us to our limits and further, a year that in some sense has brought us closer together (metaphorically or virtually, of course).

PCS as a Company, along with every single individual that is a proud member of this family, has had to fight through things some could only ever imagine and as we approach 2021, we are excited to see what the New Year will bring but we must remain vigilant and apprehensive of the next coming months which could be the hardest we have faced as yet. In true PCS style, we will not end this year on a low!!

Despite our struggles, we have still been able to push forward with plans that were put in place pre-pandemic and we are happy to announce in mid-January we will be moving into our new Office! We will remain in the West Lancs Investment Centre, but we have a developed a much bigger, more optimised space to help push the Company, and the service we provide, to new heights. This also includes a brand new Training and Development Centre!!

Lastly, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support throughout 2020. To our Staff, thank you for your continual hard work and dedication, you are all warriors!! To all our Clients and their Families, thank you for your patience and understanding. And, to our Partners and Friends, let's smash 2021!!!

THE IMXPRS EXPERIENCE


Jelly Drops are now at PCS and they are here to stay!



Over the past few weeks we have been highlighting which of our Clients are most at risk of dehydration and malnutrition as we will be providing Jelly Drops as part of their regular Meal & Nutrition Support Plan.


Our Clients have been thoroughly enjoying their Jelly Drops! We have just received our second order of trial trays, so we are very excited to see how many more of our Clients will benefit from these wonderful little 'sweeties'.


We have also been encouraging Clients to opt for Jelly Drops over unhealthy snacks which has proven highly beneficial for their overall health and nutrition! See some pictures below.


We were also asked to complete a Case Study for Jelly Drops as they are a brand new Company looking to reach out to as many people as possible that may benefit from this product, you can see the full Case Study using the button below.

Free Counselling Service available



Are you struggling with the pressures of work or balancing your home life? Do you need someone to talk to about the current situations or a passing of a Client?


To help support Staff both inside and outside of work, we have sourced an External Counsellor – Jaime Ross.


Jaime can be contacted for support for the following;

- Bereavement of a Client, Friend or Family Member

- Mental Health issues

- Relationship advice

We are proud to announce that we have now achieved the Wigan Council Progress for Providers in association with Helen Sanderson Associates Silver Award!! The PCS Team have been working very very hard since receiving our Bronze Award in April, putting lots of new ideas into practice to ensure we are providing the highest standard and most ethical service we can.


Next up ... GOLD!! ⭐️ We are determined to be the first provider in Wigan to reach Gold, so watch this space 😜⭐️

Pink Ribbon Walk for Breast Cancer Care



We did it!! The PCS Pink Fairies completed a walk of over 27 miles in aid of Breast Cancer Care and raised a total of £3279 ...


We started our journey at the end of the Liverpool-Leeds Canal in Liverpool and made our way, 27.4 miles to The Wayfarer in Parbold. Along the way we faced several challenges; not including the aches and cramps, but the overwhelming support we have received to help raise funds for such an amazing cause has made every blister worth it!


Our walkers; Nicola Connolly, Karl Connolly, Karen Mullen, Leonie Heyes, Ellie Weedall, David Martin, Angela Smith, Danielle Thompson, Lesa Connolly, Dominic Cheetham, Aga Rogos, John Simpkin, Emma Ferris, Anne Newton, Anthony Newton, Marie Fegan, Kirsty Fegan, Mark Fegan, Andrea Woodcock, Steven Woodcock, Adam Woodock and Alex Woodcock.


Well done to everyone that participated! You are all amazing individuals and should be very proud of yourselves.


Thank you to everyone that donated, sponsored or supported our Event. You have all helped make a contribution to supporting Breast Cancer sufferers throughout the UK and as we have all either been directly affected; or know someone who has been directly affected, by this disease, we all fully understand how important it is to keep raising awareness and funds to help the charities that provide such important services to us and our loved ones.

5th Birthday / Client Christmas Party

Well our Special Judge had the hardest decision choosing Winners for each Category.

We Decided to split the 0-4 Category in half as we had received so many entries, here are our 2018 Best Dressed Costume Competition Winners ...

Vintage Tea Dance



We would like to thank everyone who attended our Vintage Tea Dance yesterday, it was a huge success and we are so happy to have been able to bring all our Clients, Families, Friends and fellow Care Sector workers together for such an amazing cause.

We managed to raise £154.00 for Dementia UK which will help support Admiral Nurses in providing specialised Care to Dementia sufferers throughout the UK.

It has been overwhelming to see such a positive response to sharing and creating awareness for such a terrible disease; a disease that affects so many of our loved ones, and a battle that we as a Care provider are fighting every day. We can’t thank you all enough for this support.

A huge thank you has to go to Sharon Wilson and all our Volunteers; whether you provided transport, baked cakes, helped serve drinks, sold raffle tickets or donated raffle prizes, you all helped make our Event a success and we couldn't have done it without you.

Last but not least, we would like to thank all Entertainers, Performers and Photographer for making the Event that extra bit special.

PCS got Pudsey-fied



This year we wanted to go all out and get the whole PCS Team Pudsey-fied! And i think we suceeded!


We asked all our Staff to dress up like Pudsey and then send us a Pudsey Picture alongwith the tag #TeamPudsey and we will choose our favourite Pudsey of the Day!


The Winner would receive a £20 donation in your name to BBC Children in Need.


We chose Victoria Wood as our Pudsey Winner, she went all out in a Onsie, Tshirt and Pudsey ears! Well done Vicky!

Inspired by one of our Staff Members Lee, taking a cheeky Selfie whilst out on a Shopping Trip with Joe. We put together a #JustSmile Staff and Client Competition.


The Winner's Carla and Bob received a Lunch Hamper for 2, for the Staff and Client to enjoy together.

Caring for the Carer Award



Congratulations to Caroline Smith for winning our Caring for the Carer Award.


We wanted to show our most dedication and committed Care Staff how much we appreciate them and therefore have put all their names into a draw which was announced live on our Facebook Page.


Caroline won a voucher to take her Family out for Dinner at any Hungry Horse restaurant.


We will be repeating the Awards every 6 months so if you were nominated this time, keep up the good work and you might have a chance to win next time!



Glam Grans Pamper Party



On Wednesday 23rd August, we joined forces with Vogue with Sj Hair & Beauty and transformed our In-House Training Room into a Vintage Beauty Salon.


We invited Clients from throughout the North West, providing transport for those who didnt have Family to bring them, and provided a FREE Hair Wash & Blowdry, plus Manicures, Nail Painting, Hand Massages, Reiki Healing and a full Afternoon Tea Buffet.

All our Client were thrilled and the day was enjoyed by all.


Thank you to Sarahjane and her team of Stylists and Beauty Therapists, you were all amazing and our Clients will never forget the time and effort you gave to them.

Wigan Council's Big Night Out



We were invited to an evening filled with fun and laughter, hosted by Wigan Council, for all of the Ethical Framework Providers.


Our Director and Registered Manager Nicola was asked to make a speech and share her thoughts on what we have achieved so far. You can see this video by clicking here


The Event Invitation and Programs were designed by our very own Chantelle, along with a beautiful Word Cloud that represents everything that we stand for as an Ethical Provider.


Thank you to the team at Wigan Council and Ince Labour Club for putting on such an amazing evening, the full PCS Team had a ball! We think we should make it an annual event.
