1. What or who made you decide you wanted a career in care and is it something you have always wanted to do?



Working in my new career it has changed my perspective on the sector by showing how hard the sector works especially during the pandemic and that nothing will slow them and will provide the care to the highest standard.



2. Can you describe your experience as a Care Assistant, working throughout the pandemic and what impact this experience has had on you?



Working as a care Assistant has broadened my outlook on how many people are vulnerable and lonely during lockdown the only people they see are us Carer’s and to see there faces light up when you walk through the door is reward enough and fills your heart with warmth.



3. If you had to describe your employment with PCS in three words, what would they be?



Rewarding

Hardworking

Knowledgeable



4. What inspires or motivates you to get up every day during a pandemic and continue doing your job to the best of your ability?



During the pandemic the clients motivate and inspire me to get up everyday as I classed them as not just clients but as extended family and even having a chat during the visit can make their day just that little better.



5. Has your new chosen career changed your perspective on the healthcare sector, if yes, please explain how?



Yes very much so, I did not realise how vast strokes and dementia was and how quickly it can deteriorate a person in such a short time, how very sad it is for the families they are so vulnerable its makes you afraid for them if it was not for the sector in health care what would happen to these people; makes me dread to think. The families are sometimes distraught and exhausted but still keeping going for the ones they love.
